Client RSV Australia/ Atomic Resources
Project Ngaka Coalfield Southern Tanzania
Project Overview
Sargon Engineering was contracted by RSV Australia to provide process engineering services for the design of a coal preparation plant, for coal from the Ngaka Colliery. The coal preparation plant was designed to handle 1.7 mtpa of ROM coal and produce 1 mtpa of export coal. Sargon Engineering tailored a conventional coal washing process to client requirements, with particular reference to washability data and separation efficiency data.
Solutions Delivered
Sargon Engineering employed METSIM software to prepare mass balances for the dense media circuit of the coal preparation process. Sargon Engineering provided detailed engineering commentary on the following aspects of the process: ROM Coal Handling and DM Cyclone Feed Preparation; DM Cyclone and associated Float and Sink Screens; Magnetite Handling and Dense Medium Density Control; Water Only Cycloning; Fines Circuit; Product and Rejects Handling; Tailings & Utilities.
Notable Results
Sargon Engineering was able to supply a comprehensive process engineering package, comprising PFD’s, stream tables, mass balance & report, in a small timeframe, working to a tight budget.
